Comments
My Mom signed up for a *free* Assurance Wireless cell phone because: 1) she’s 80 yrs. old and living on less than $8,000 annually, 2) she’s 80 yrs. old and lives in a rent controlled building, 3) she’s 80 yrs. old and collects a whopping $39 per month in food stamps to help with the basic poverty diet of cat food and Kraft mac & cheese, AND 4) she’s 80 yrs. old and people her age are easily scammed.
Since she received her phone (very quickly I have to say), her ‘bundle discount’ for phone/internet/cable has been lost, costing her an additional $26 per month; the EXACT AMOUNT she was paying for her previous cell phone service.
I say this is a hinky, dinky parlez-vous.....
mariella pascal, I think you are being funny, but If you really need the phone, apply online to see if you qualify.
iwant my free cell phone now
I think this is a great program and is a great good way for the government to give back to the people.
I doubt it. They do have free texting though.
i gotta question does assurance wireless have internet so that u could watch videos online......
It is free. You won't get charged for anything.
Stated prices do not include taxes and surcharges. I am wondering how we find out they are? I just received my phone yesterday. I got it because it was free and I don't have any money. I would hate to use it and then get a bill for taxes and fees that I couldn't pay.
Does anyone now if it is true that they can track/trace your phonecalls, and you need to be a head of household to receive one. I also heard that 1 phone per household is the rule too. The commercials show this as a scam, how can a mother get a phone to call her son, when the son is shown with a phone of his own? This seems similar to Safelink, which has recently withdrawn its commericals from the airwave.
Assurance wireless has a great program and we would love to post an article on our website. In these times that we are living in we must help one another lower our bottom lines. Hats off to Assurance!

Do you know if they will expand to other states in the near future and are there plans flexible to use with any phone or just their products? I love the latest gadgets but already have so many phones it's crazy.
Thanks for the great information. Very helpful.
