Roll on President Obama's health bill. I have read the whole thing, it is enormous! I am in Australia where we have had free first class medicine for 40 years. If you get sick here you just go to a hospital, get wonderful care then go home with a prescription that costs $4
A very useful and kind thing you have done in publishing the hub, I wish you happy times from over the pond.
free prescription drug programs are a god send for many people. there are some prescriptions that people must take for the rest of their lives in order to live. for example, insulin or thyroid meds. if you dont have these meds you will die. however, they are not free even if you dont have an income let alone medical coverage.
i know there is a lot of controversy surrounding universal healthcare. however, we already actually have it with medicare. simply cover everybody for free-it works in other countries. i have spoken with actual citizens of places such as canada and denmark that have it and they dont have any negative comments or feedback surrounding it.
i believe that we should always put ourselves in another persons shoes and what would you do if you couldnt receive lifesaving meds? you may have had insurance for years and found yourself out of work and out of coverage and what do you do?
great information and thank you for sharing with us

When I was infected with shingles, my doctors offered me discount cards for my medicines. Somehow those cards helped me endure the high cost and the pain. Today I only enjoy a fair discount of maintenance medicines for my type II diabetes using my senior citizen's ID card. How I wish that we, Filipinos, enjoy the same perks Australian patients are lavished with! Thank you for sharing this.
