Youtube Partnership vs Monetization

I am writing this, to help explain the difference between monetization and being a Partner in the YouTube Program. One day in November, when I logged onto one of my YouTube videos, I saw the words. “Congratulation, your videos are now enabled for monetization!" Well, I have to tell you, I screamed like a girl! "I am in the partnership program? I'm in the partnership program!

I soon began to wonder, how on earth did I get into the program, because I didn't have tons of followers, videos or of views? I have seen members with 50 and 500,000 view with ads. I was far from one of those. As I did a little research, I discovered that I was not in the partnership program, but only monetized. I am going to now tell you the difference between the two, to save you the same, private or public disappointment.

I was told by a friend of mine, RachelleWilliams, that you have to be invited into the revenue share program. By the way, go check her out, she has great hubs! This is what caused my initial misconception that I was a partner.

When the YouTube selects you for monetization, you will be notified by email, that they will now place ads on your videos and that you will share of the revenue. You can have ads on any video as long as it has not picture, music or other copyright issues. To be a part of any of the YouTube programs, you need to have a Google and a YouTube account.

Each time you upload a video, you will be asked to fill out a claim description, confirming your content is original and you have legal permission to post it. Once your video is accepted, which is usually a short period of time, there will be ads showing on your videos. That is it, no frills!

You still have an opportunity to make money even if you don't have a lot of videos or subscriptions, if you have a video that takes off like, ".David Went to the Dentist" This video went viral and was even show on the new. It got millions of views.

An individual video monetization offer, is when one of your videos are super popular and have gain a wide viewership or have gone viral. You are then invited to have that individual video monetized to earn revenue. You will receive a letter confirming your new status.

Have you ever clicked on a YT video and it had like a full one minute commercial on it? These are the luck folks that are in the partnership program. You can apply for the program, or you can be invited to join the program. Those accepted into the YT program have a proven record of quality videos and a strong following. With a partnership you get a lot of perks like:

• Email support
• Partnership page listing
• Longer video uploads
• Revenue sharing

So, if you are interested in making some money, find your niche. Are you funny? Do you want to teach, do you want to entertain or do you like to challenge others. Start making quality videos, interacting with the community and see what happens.
