Vintage Designer Clothing - Where to Look
By 2besure
There is something extremely romantic about vintage designer clothing. When I look at the black and white movies from the 40’s and 50’s, I can’t help but try to remember what it was like to live in that time, what peoples homes really looked like and what ordinary people did day by day.
Vintage clothing is not just about clothes, it is about making a unique statement of who you are, you fashion sense and your sensibilities.
There are special shops where you can find just what you a looking for when shopping for vintage wear. When you walk into those specialty clothing shops, it takes you breath away, as it is like walking back into another time. You can also shop on line at such sites at Ebay and Amazon.com.
Label/No Label
When shopping for designer clothes, always check the labels to see who it is by. Many times the label may be worn so that it is unreadable or missing altogether.
Ask the sales person about the piece. They probably know a lot of the merchandise in the store and hopefully be able to identify the piece.
As I mentioned before, so what if it is not a designer piece, especially if it is just what you are looking for. You will pay less for a garment that is not a designer piece and that is a win - win situation for you.
So unless you have your mind set on a certain designer vintage outfit, be open to all possibilities.
If you have a store where you are a regular shopper, as the sales person to hold keep an eye out for certain things you have been looking for. Most of the time, they will gladly give you a call when it comes in.

What are you Looking for?
One of the keys to find acceptable vintage clothing, at a good price, is to know what you are looking for. If you are fashion sabby and know about designer garment when you see one, you could come out with some wonderful finds.
You may also be able to find great clothes that may not have a designer tab, but it catches your eye and heart the moment you see it. Check the quality of the garment, if it is hemmed by hand, are there any tears or worn areas. If it is something you can fix or over look, get it!
You can also look for vintage clothes online. This is great because you get to see what the clothing looks like. The only thing is you can try it on, so know what your exact size is, and find out if they accept exchanges.
How do I Look?
Try on everything you are considering buying because many shops to not allow returns. Does it fit well,? Does the color compliment you? Does it express who you are?
If the garment does not fit, put it back for someone else, or else it will probably become more vintage, while you are waiting to lose they weight you need to wear it. If you only need to lose a few pounds to make it happen then get it.
