Essential oils are extracted from plants by the use of distillation, the method used to remove impurities from water. Fresh plants or flowers are placed in a compartment and steam under pressure releases the essential oils.

If you ever wondered why essential oils are so expensive, it takes several hundred pounds of flowers or plants to produce a small amount of essential oil.

Once extracted, this precious essential oil if ready to be used to treat medical conditions, such as headaches, depression, anxiety and healing through therapeutic message and in cosmetics. You can also place a few drops of essential oil into a hot bath to help to calm your mood and release unwanted stress.

Bergamont Essential Oil

Pepperment Essential Oil

Peppermint can be use for stress related problems, anxiety and problems associated with addiction.  It also has anti-inflammatory properties an can be use to apply to stiff joints, aching feet or to treat fungal an bacterial infection.  Peppermint works as a diuretic and can be used to relieve water retention and menstrual discomfort.

Cedarwood Essential Oil

Cedarwood oil can be used for increasing mental focus and soothing the nerves. It also is on of the oils used by Egyptian in the prepare of the dead for burial. Cedarwood is used in cosmetics, and in insect repellents. You have heard of protecting valuable garments by placing them in a cedarwood chest. Other uses:

Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense has been use for thousands of years as incense in worship. The bible often speaks of frankincense and its aroma flowing up to God. It also can be used to relive the pain associate with rheumatism, arthritis and general aches and pains. It helps to tone skin soothe sunburn ,insect bites and minor wounds.

Caution:

1. Do not apply essential oils to the skin with first diluting. Except when using lavender or tea tree oil.

2. Be cautious when using essential oils around an open flame as they are flammable.
