The Timing of the Prophetic Word
73Prophecy, is the mind and heart of God, speaking through a human vessel. There is a timing to the Prophetic word. There is a seasonal word and a word for the present time for a present audience.
The Word for the moment is usually given to a person, group or congregation for that immediate time. This will take place when the Spirit of God, moves on the Prophet or an individual to give a specific prophetic Word.
1Corinthians 14:31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
The Spirit of God will speak when He is welcome in the midst. Often during worship, songs are song of praise, adoration and of welcome to the Holy Spirit. I have seen many times as this worship ushered in the sweet presence of the Holy Spirit, followed by a powerful prophetic word.
God will go where He is Invited
God will move where he is wanted. If you are in a congregation that does not honor the Holy Spirit or believe in the gifts of the Spirit, God will usually not give a prophetic word to that body. There are times however, when God will send His Prophet in that situation to give a word of chastisement for their hardness of heart.
Sometimes a Pastor will invited a man of woman of God to tear down opposition to the Holy Spirit in his church. As this preacher breaks up the fallow ground, it gives way for the Pastor to introduce the things of the Spirit to His church. (2 Samuel 12)

Shake it Up
There is nothing that shakes up a church like the Prophet of God. He come to tear down, break up, and rebuild. Are you that Prophet that the Lord is calling?
If the Lord has called you to Prophetic ministry do not be discouraged if the church you belong to does not believe in your Call.
It is God who has called you and not man, so stand firm and refuse to be discouraged when you are not received. God will open doors for your and send you those who will receive you and those who will reject you. God told the Prophet :
Ezekiel2:6 and 7 And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. (6) And thou shalt speak my words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious.
God called them, "a rebellious house! This is because God had constantly sent Prophets to the people of God, and the Prophets were rejected or killed. Even today, it is sad to say, that much of the opposition you will get to Prophecy or to the Prophetic will be from Christians.

I'm almost speechless because whehn I read that you used the Scripture from Ezekiel chapter 2, because a few years ago that exact scripture as what the Lord gave to me. Then about a year ago He gave me Isaiah 58:1-3 as a calling which fits perfectly with the Ezekiel scripture. And most of all I indentify with you saying that no one may believe your call. That is oh so true at least for me....I get so confused and frustrated that I doubt... I can sense the Holy Sprit telling me things that I know aren't from me, but I question... Sometimes I too, as Jeremiah did, just decide 'that's it. I'm not saying any more.'
Thank you.
2bsure Beautiful writing. I loved this. So powerful. I have been going to a new church. The Pastor is awesome. The worship music is awesome. The truth is shared and pwoerful. The people are sweethearts. The 'FIRE' of the Holy Spirit does not move all over. I am sure the people feel the power of the Spirit but the raising hands, tongues, alter calls are not present in the service. Some churchs are more conservative. Anyway I miss the 'fire' in worship. I will go visit my other church. God just answered my question. The power of the Holy Spirit is like no other 'high' or joy. I needed to hear your words today. Thank You Jesus for 2b sure and this writing. I think deep down I was asking Christ for clarity. God is so cool.He does for us what we can not do for ourselves. I love it. I love Jesus. Amen sister.
Come and visit me. I miss seeing you at my hubs. Hugs Galore. Love you.ll Glory to God. (-;
Praise God, sister! This word greatly encouraged me today. I have not called myself a prophet, for the prophecy comes from the Holy Spirit in us, amen! I have wondered about this calling to tear down, break up and rebuild His body. It is not pleasant, for a prophet (the Holy Spirit) will indeed be hated by those who are not His. He first tears us down, breaks us and rebuilds us before He uses us in this manner with the brethren ~ for only through submission to His Spirit can we be used for His glory! He sends us in and He brings us out, in order that darkness be exposed and that man is held accountable to His Spirit. While people remain in rebellion, God can and will continue the work He began until it is completed in the hearer, especially those who call themselves by His name ~ Christians. Hallelujiah to the Lamb. Thank you so much. I needed to hear this today, for it brings confirmation, comfort and encouragement.

It is important to just obey God. Though time an exercise of your gift you will see a pattern of accuracy or lack thereof. When you find yourself to be accurate in your gift this will foster more confidence.
